FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a credit score?

Your credit score is a number that is calculated based on your credit history such as credit cards, loans, and mortgage history that is used to predict the likelihood that you will default on a debt.  Your credit score can be between 330 – 850.

When is the best time to start your service?

Yesterday! That answer really depends on your personal goals. Whatever your personal credit and financial goals are, it’s important to remember that credit repair is not an overnight “quick-fix” and takes time. Many people can start to see an increase in their score in as little as 30 days but the process of going from bad credit to good credit typically takes much longer. Your score didn’t get bad overnight and it doesn’t improve that way either.

How do I get started and what’s my first step?

It all starts by knowing exactly what is being reported on your credit report from all THREE credit bureaus. You can give us a call at  855-349-6674and one of our expert credit advisers can give you a free credit evaluation. From there, your credit adviser will guide you what plans will work best for your credit.

What’s included in the FREE Consultation?

You will speak with one of our expert credit advisors will discuss your credit report and how it relates to the FICO pie chart. We will also discuss general strategy for raising your credit score. All of this can be done over the phone; but if you are around the San Diego area, you can stop by our offices and get a one-on-one consultation with an adviser.

When I get my credit report, does it hurt my scores?

No. Checking your own credit doesn’t have an impact on your credit scores.

Can’t I do this myself? Why do I need pay a company for something I can do myself?

We can do a lot of things for ourselves. We can fix an open wound, repair an engine, or make Hollywood films on our own if we really wanted. But how many times are we better off letting a doctor, mechanic, or Hollywood director perform these services rather than ourselves? The world of credit, and by extension, debt, is complicated and vast and everyone else has experts working on their side. Why wouldn’t you want an expert on your side?

How much does credit repair cost?

We have a Pay-for-Success pricing model, which means you only pay once we get negative items removed from your credit report. We also set a maximum charge for the number of items we will bill you for after we delete them. We do have a Consultation Fee to get started in the program that ranges based on the severity of negative items on your report.

Why do we do No-Deletion-No-Pay?

There are other companies that have a monthly pricing model that charges you every month, whether or not they get any items deleted. Since we only charge per deletion, we depend on getting results to stay in business.

Is credit report monitoring included in the cost of credit repair?

No, it is a separate 3rd party company.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, but since we do not charge until you see results we don’t need to very often.

Is Credit Repair Legal?

Yes! It is your legal right to dispute items on your credit report. Baby Boomers Credit Services exercises your legal rights using many state and federal statutes including but not limited to, the Fair Credit Billing act, Fair debt collections practices act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Truth in Lending act, just to name a few.   Using our knowledge, experience and highly engineered processes we are able to provide our clients with consistent results.

While we work ONLY within the legal parameters allowed by the law to provide you quick and efficient service there are, unfortunately, many companies in our industry that are more than happy to break the law in an effort to generate more profit. There are many services that recommend their clients use tactics such as:

  • Obtaining alternate Social Securities Number
  • Creating “fake” credit profiles by reporting false information
  • Creating consumer credit profiles using an EIN
  • Filing a police report to falsely claim identity theft

We recommend staying far away from these companies as you risk taking on significant personal and even criminal liability.

What items can Baby Boomers remove from my credit report?

While each clients situation is unique the law provides many protections for consumers. We can legally dispute any item that you believe to be inaccurate, unverifiable, misleading, or incomplete. We have successfully removed the following items for our clients:

  • Bankruptcies
  • Foreclosures
  • Short Sales
  • Medical Collections
  • Charge-offs
  • Late payments
  • Tax liens
  • Public records
  • Judgements
  • Collections
  • and more..

What if something I got repaired gets put back in my credit report?

Although this is unusual, it does happen on rare occasion. Once your file is closed, we don’t monitor your credit anymore. However, if you notice that this has happened, just notify us and we will work on repairing it at no cost to you, as long as it is the SAME debt with the SAME creditor.
